Principle VII: Agent Engineering Excellence

Overview
Enterprise ADLC adoption requires governed, reusable agent development infrastructure with standardized patterns and quality controls. ADLC cannot scale across enterprise without standardized, reusable patterns for agent development itself.
Meta-agents formalize the creation of agents, commands, and MCP integrations as first-class constitutional concerns. Agent Engineering Excellence transforms ADLC from a framework into a self-sustaining, scalable enterprise platform.
Non-Negotiable Rules
| Rule | Description |
|---|---|
| Orchestrator Pattern | Compact agents that delegate to domain-specific capabilities |
| Agent Catalog | Semantic versioning with certification for all agents |
| MCP Standard | Model Context Protocol with security-by-design for all integrations |
| CLI Best Practices | Comprehensive documentation and argument validation for commands |
| Meta-Agent Governance | Dedicated agents govern the creation of framework components |
| Constitutional Compliance | All components reference applicable principles |
Enterprise Coordination Flow
